RE: What sport tires last the longest?

With my experiences I'd have to say Maxxis Razr's.

RE: sidearm help seeked.

Take a look at the Smith & Wesson revolvers as well. They made the 357 Mag popular.
Another advantage to the 357 is you can shoot 38 special through it for plinking, which is cheaper than 357 ammo. Don't try 357 ammo in a gun designed for 38 special, unless you want a grenade.

RE: sidearm help seeked.

I also hear good things about Ruger revolvers. If you're going to be hunting then I'd go with a revolver. I think a 357 would do you just fine for self defense, the 44 mag would cost you much more for ammunition. Since it's going to be your first gun you aren't going to want a hand cannon, the 357 has enough power.
blasterfan, the make of the gun has no bearing on if a can "explodes good." It's the round that it chambers. Also, my .22 will do some damage on a can. Shoot a 12 gauge shotgun slug at a laundry detergent jug filled with water if you want to see something cool. Or a head of lettuce.

RE: sidearm help seeked.

Are you going to be hunting with it? Otherwise the barrel length shouldn't be a huge deal. I just bought a Smith & Wesson M&P 40 and I really like it. They make it in .357, .40, and .45.

RE: Ride picssss

Nice pics, I haven't been out in a few months those reminded me how much I miss it.
What kind of tires does your dad have on his Grizzly? They do not look like traditional mud or Utility tires.
Those look to be Holeshot ATR's.

RE: R.I.P my friend

I'm sorry to hear of your losses.
I lost my dog I grew up with about a year and a half ago to bone cancer. She was an 11 year old golden retriever and yellow lab mix. She had started to limp but hadn't gotten to the point where she was in danger of breaking it. My family made the decision for her to be put down before it got too painful. She wasn't ready to go, but I don't think they ever really are.
The vet said to keep her from doing too much activity but I didn't agree; I brought her outside with me every time I was out there and played around with her whenever I could. I wasn't going to let her lay around for what would have been the last 3 months of her life. I let her be herself and I'm glad I did. She was a very active dog all her life and I couldn't take it away from her.

That may be the case, but it can also escalate the situation. You'll never know until the other guy runs away or pulls out a gun.

RE: Self-Defense Loads

I looked on the internet and there is a forum for M&P owners and I found some good info. I just wanted to use something besides the 165 Gr. ball rounds I was using for practice. Thanks for the input guys. What do you all shoot or carry?

Self-Defense Loads

As you may know, I bought a Smith & Wesson M&P .40 a couple months ago. I really like it, in case you're wondering. I've put several hundred rounds through it and it hasn't jammed.
I plan on getting my conceal and carry permit in the near future. However, in the meantime while I'm at school, my parents will be taking it to their cabin for self defense purposes. You never know what kind of screw balls you'll meet in the woods.
What kind of self defense loads would you recommend? I know there are a lot of people on here that know their stuff. For plinking I've just been using the cheap 165 Gr. rounds. Also, while I'm asking, what kind of holsters would you recommend?...Thanks!!

RE: What is wrong with this man?

Hehe, I wouldn't mind. It's obvious he wants to be on a team that's a contender right now because he doesn't have a few seasons for the team to rebuild and then make a run. All the Vikings need is a solid QB, and at the very least, he would be one of the best mentors out there for a young QB. Even if he doesn't have the physical ability he had in 1996, he still knows how to read a defense. But, there's no way the Packers would let him go to a team in their conference. There are teams in need of QB's, but to Brett it's all a matter of what team would instantly become a contender with him under center.
We'll see how this circus unfolds, but one thing is for certain, he really is causing a headache for the Packers and their fans. You can't blame the guy, for the past 17 years professional football is all he has known.

RE: Aftermarket add-ons?

Also, depending on the make, aftermarket clutch kits will give you more bang for your buck. They don't add power they just allow you to put the power the the ground more efficiently. I'm assuming you have an arctic cat because of your name, however I haven't really seen much for aftermarket clutches for AC but I have seen ads for others, especially Polaris.
I put a full exhaust, clutch kit, K&N, and a carb mod on my sportsman 400 and in a drag it would pull ahead of a 500 one length within 30 feet and hold it.

It wasn't me either, and I couldn't tell you who did it if the other 3 mods that posted in this thread have not claimed responsibility.

RE: 589 vs Mudlite

I agree with cchagros. Go with the AT's. I had the AT's on a Sportsman 400 and they performed very well. The rubber is a little soft to allow good all around performance on all surfaces but I was not concerned about how fast they wore.

I really like my GNCC's, they're great and they are wearing pretty nice.
Some other spots you can look are www.denniskirk.com and www.goldenwestcycle.com.
